LE BOKOR VILLE-FANTOME

Situé au sud du Cambodge, non loin de la côte, dans la chaine de l'Eléphant, le Bokor fut une des stations d'altitude les plus renommées de toute l'Indochine. La route d'accès totalement asphaltée, terminée en 1921, permit d'entreprendre la construction de la station et du luxueux Bokor Palace achevé en 1925. Très fréquenté dans les années 20 et 30, le Bokor devint, dans les années 50 et 60, un haut-lieu de villégiature très prisé des français et des cambodgiens fortunés. En 1972, à l'arrivée des Khmers rouges, qui l'occupèrent eux-même un long moment, le Bokor fut définitivement abandonné.
